The Willows Salford is a great place to have a night out. Great entertainment, great food and a very welcoming atmosphere. The Willows is highly recommended. All of the shows are excellent.
The Willows variety club, I feel is brilliant. Although i have never dined in there I would highly recommend it for a night out with your friends. There is always a great atmosphere and the drinks are cheap 4 for £10 and the bar staff come to your table so the only time you actually need to move is to go to the loo or to the dance floor (or you can simply dance at your table). I would definately recommend the Willows to anyone for a night out!! It's always great fun and safe as there are lots of hunky doorstaff to keep the trouble away.
I am not one to complain but the service recieved at this venue has really disgusted me.I went to this venue with a group of 20 friends celebrating a 30th birthday. We all had high hopes that the night would be special and memorable. The menu stated that the main course consisted of sirloin steak in peppercorn sauce with no other alternative menu. What we was actually served was fatty braising steak in gravy. The only vegetables were one floret of cauliflower and garden peas.Honestly these were cold. The group did complain to the waitress that the food was cold but this was ignored and we were left to eat the cold meal relying on the gravy to make it bearable. The starter which was tomato based vegetable soup I have got to say was really nice. The only desert available was irish cream cheesecake which was small to say the least sat on a saucer. The whole meal was extremely disappointing. Whilst eating desert I was suddenly confronted by a very aggressive and highly confrontational chef at the table who was accusing me of complaining about the steak to the waiter.I explained that we had not complained about the steak but the fact that the vegetables were cold. She was very aggressive and I had got to say I felt very imtimidated. She then realised that it was in fact another table who had complained. The whole thing was very umprofessionable and we did actually say that the menu states the steak should have been sirloin in peppercorn sauce but it was in fact fatty braising steak. The whole night was ruined and I would not recoomend the food to anybody, totally waste of money. The drinks were vastly expensive,i.e vodka and lemonade was £5.15, bottle of Blossom Hill Wine £13.95.The entertainment was ok,the compere was quite funny and the singer was really good, although the dance floor is tiny and everyone is packed together.Overall we were very disappointed and do not plan on a return visit. If you plan to spend money on a special occasion meal do not visit this venue.
I have been to numerous nights out at the Variety centre and cannot recommend it highly enough. It's fantastic. The entertainment is always of the highest quality. There is plenty of secure car parking and plenty of seating available. Theres also sufficient ladies loos! and your in a safe and friendly environment. It's fab for hen parties as well. No matter what age you are, you are bound to enjoy it. I would highly recommend a visit.
