I recently visited the Filmworks / Odeon and it was quite a pleasant outing. That said, it was really cold inside but the film made up for it.

This cinema is one of the best ones around and I think most people would agree with me when I say this. In fact so you get an idea how popular this cinema is I would definitely recommend that you book your tickets online at weekends to avoid disappointment as the queues are really big. It’s also worth getting their fairly early because if there are big queues then it’s likely that there are not enough seats and so you end up in the rubbish seats at the front. However if you get there early then its definitely worth going as the screens are really big and there are all the usual places to get refreshments from, and as you would expect they are quite pricey.

The Odeon (formerly Filmworks) is located alongside many clubs, bars and restaurants in the Printwork complex, this cinema is probably one of the most popular cinemas in Manchester, if not the most popular. There are several screens for various different films, and you can always find the latest films at the Printwork. I wouldn't say the tickets were student price, but with a 23 multiple screens, it isn't a surprise that it is so popular. The staff are usually pretty friendly and there are the usual foodstands nearby, which again, I wouldn't agree are priced within the student range, but it's not something students would mind paying too much for. I particularly like the ice cream stand however! The screens themselves are very big, but if you don't plan your time well, you might find yourself sitting in the front row where the worse seats are as this cinema is so popular.
