Lowry Galleries houses a collection of interactive and modern exhibitions. They also have a gift shop. Donations are warmly welcome.
The Lowry has a fantastic range of things to do. It has a permanent collection of Lowry paintings on show, the biggest collection in the country, as well as a theatre and a temporary exhibition, which you do have to pay for. There is also a great bar that looks out over the Manchester Ship Canal, which is reasonably priced, and although the restaurant is a bit pricey, it is worth it.The only problem is that they try and force money out of you. Donations are welcome to see the Lowry paintings, but it is supposed to be free, but the man on the desk wouldn't let us through until we put some money in the box. It is fab though and I thoroughly recommend it.
There's loads here, from the Lowry galleries to theatres, gift shop and restaurant and cafes. Free to enter although donations are welcome. The building is wonderful, much to be admired and in a lovely setting with views of the waterside. The lowry exhibition itself is well done, with 2 floors and lots to see. Staff were really helpful asking if we needed help in lots of the rooms. The theatres too are amazing, one of them is really big, probably the best threatre in Manchester. A fun day out, plenty to see and lots to enjoy. I really recommend it.
